This romantic Kannada music video, presented by JustRoll Films LLP and Leo Anup Monteiro, brilliantly captures the beauty of nature alongside the tender emotions of the monsoon season.

The melody of female desire remains a rare note in the symphony of love songs. Particularly in Indian music, the initial attraction and expression of desire are most often shown through the male gaze.

“Maleya Hani" redefines storytelling by creating a space for young women to reveal their personal reflections and by turning the spotlight on them.

The narrative centers around a teenage girl who harbors a quiet affection for her classmate. She secretly observes him at college and follows him on social media, silently hoping that he shares the same feelings for her.

Set against the monsoon season, the song gains an added layer of beauty and charm. The rainy backdrop contributes significantly to the song’s visual elegance and emotional resonance.

The lead roles, portrayed by Santhosh and Lavisha D’Souza, are well cast, as both actors convincingly embody the innocence of college students and bring authenticity to their roles. Their fresh on-screen pairing and wonderful chemistry adds a layer of novelty and realism to the narrative.

The screenplay and direction by Shruthin S Shetty deserve high praise for crafting this remarkable work. He was meticulous with every scene and shot, ensuring that his vision was vividly brought to life.

Thrupthi Rai’s soulful voice brings a magical and enchanting quality to the song, elevating the overall experience. The song owes much of its success to the warmth and elegance of her vocals.

The enchanting essence of the song is also credited to the talented lyricist Pavan Shetty, popularly known as Kalki, and the skilled music composer Sanath Devadiga. The track’s rich soundscape was further elevated by the expert mixing and mastering of Abhijit Naik. Adding to the musical brilliance are Gavin D’Souza on electric guitar, Abhishek MB on flute, and Sreejith on violin. United in their efforts, the talented team produced an engaging composition that resonates deeply with the audience.

Much like the first rain of the season, this song stirs forgotten feelings, capturing both the rhythm of the rain and the rhythm of the heart. If you wish to embrace the essence of the monsoon season, this song beautifully evokes the emotions of anyone who has ever experienced the joy and ache of first love.

Due to overwhelming demand, the team released a Tulu version of the song titled Barsada Pani, performed by male vocalist Shazil Hassan, with lyrics and melody composed by Pavan Shetty.

Shazil Hassan delivers an impressive vocal performance, beautifully complemented by Pavan’s thoughtfully penned lyrics that enhance the emotional depth of the song.

Please look at both versions and let us know which one moved you deeply.
